Presentation:

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Food Therapy is a holistic diet system with an abundance of history and evidence-based research behind it. It utilizes TCM herbs and theory, fresh produce, seasonality, and individual constitutions to help us adjust imbalances and achieve optimal health through delicious foods and drinks. While it is an important branch of TCM, it is not taught in detail in the western world, nor is it updated to suit modern day living and cultural contexts. This course aims to provide TCM practitioners and students a comprehensive overview of food therapy and its application.

Program:

Class 1 - Review the basic theories of TCM food therapy. 

Class 2 - TCM food therapy applications for specific body constitutions. 

Class 3 - Cooking with TCM herbs and dried ingredients (includes hands-on demo).

Class 4 - Case study and recipes. 

 

General goals:

Understand the basics of TCM food therapy and its applications to treat disease patterns and

promote general wellness.

About the Instructor:

Zoey Gong is a Traditional Chinese Medicine chef and nutritionist.

Born in Shanghai, China, she now lives in New York City, where she hosts pop-up medicinal dinners and collaborates with various brands to teach the wisdom of medicinal cooking. She has a B.S. in nutrition and a B.S. in public health from New York University. She is also the founder of Five Seasons TCM, a boutique wellness brand that shares and modernizes the knowledge of TraditionalChinese Medicine (TCM) food therapy through educational content, functional products and its avant-garde aesthetic.
